Have just loaded a full .pdf version of this http://www.fishing.net.nz/gamefish-weight-calculator/ - here . It's based on length x girth squared/800 formula and is a pretty good indication of weight and used as an indicator by many professional skippers and captains. For example a recent marlin weighed 113.3Kg and measured at L: 246  G:114 which is 112kg according to formula.

Print one and keep it on the boat and in the gamefishing tackle bag.

http://www.csgnetwork.com/fishsaltwtcalc.html - this is the calculator I use - it's the only one I've found that you don't have to muck around converting imperial to metric......just use the "BLUE MARLIN" formula and in most cases "AVERAGE FOR CLASS" for Stirpies.....it's been pretty accurate over the years....the 'TUNA" formula has been very good with NPBFT as well.

I've not tried the "SNAPPER" formula but will next time I decide to weigh something to test the math.
