I had the pleasure of once again hosting konishi San from Japan out here in the Bay of plenty today.

After a slow start the guys got onto some good fish, this one pictured measured in at 135 CM any guesses on the weight.

We got one even bigger not long after.

If it were a snapper I'd say 36lb :D

But since its not I'd guess 29.2KG, hard to guess considering the lack of visual on its girth.

Fish was weighed in a sling and dragged the scales down to 23Kg. Well done Andre a customised EXTREME buff will be coming your way.
Thanks to all who guessed, when i first caught a glimpse of the fish i would have guessed 25 to 28kg, it was really thin and long. I think one of Tongan Terrors weigh slings are a great investment for any vessel catching kingfish, I see a lot of fish overestimated and I am guilty of it myself, but putting them on the scales every now and then gives yourself a good calibration to help with estimates at a later date.
Heres a picture of the second fish we caught, this one was much longer and even bigger. Again it was a thin fish and must have recently spawned, prior to spawning with soem condition on it this fish would have been massive. Dragged the scales down to shy of 30 kg somewhere around 28 to 29.
Cheers Mark
