Theres a huge difference in fish raised vs' fish hooked.

I wouldnt bother with poppers for stripeys, we got our one in cabo on a smith stickbait and most stripeys I have heard of being hooked have also been on stickbaits.

jobu's and if they are too light for the lure then small hayes hooks to make up for the weight lost by not using big trebles which are ****ing useless on billfish IMO

A mate I ocassionally fish with gave me what he described as an Oman rigged lure that is primarily used for YFT in the Arabian sea. It is a bibbed lure that they snap the bibb off and stiff rig.
The belly through wire us twisted 90 degrees, the hook snooded on and then this is slipped over the twisted belly wire. The front wire is also twisted 90 degres to be horizontial, through which the leader passes. He recons for catching tuna they are leathal. Mark has just gone upto Nova Scotia chasing BFT and has a couple he is gonna use.

The bibb has been snapped off and expoxy filled.
