I have my popper rod Fin nor rod and fin nor reel the big one I think its a 95, ive had mono on it and it held about 600 of 10 and this season tryed catching a marlin on a popper, had one on, but thats another story.
 
Any way what do you think is best braid or mono for popper fishing?
Braid sets nicer on the reel it seems to flow off it better of too.

No doubt about it, nylon is no longer the preferred line.
Personally I would go for Fireline rather than just normal braid, as I feel it works better for constant casting. It is slightly thicker than normal braid but my 8500 fin-nor reel took 300m of 80lb fireline easily. I have justspooled up a couple of 6500 fin-nors with over 300m fireline plus 1/4 spool of 50lb mono backing each (rather than go all fireline, as I doubt the bottom of the spool is ever likely to be seen again)
In case you're wondering, the difference is roughly that fireline is a fused "braid" unlike the woven normal braid, so it is a little more springy than the ordinary braid products. This means the line flips off the spool just slightly on it's way out when casting, whereas the limper braid can and does run up over itself as it screams off the reel, and will very quickly pick up any slightly looser loops of line on your spool, wrap it up and haul it off the spool in a hideous snarl-up. Not a good look at all,and pretty terminal on any rod eyes the snarl loops over on its way up the rod.
I would imagine you'd still be able to get 400-500m easily of 50lb fireline on a 9500 fin-nor. It over-tests enormously as well, usually up to 20% from the tests I have done.

You'll be able to cast further with braid and it may set the hook better and capacity.
With todays technology you can buy braid for whatever you intend to use it for ie.. casting,jigging etc
Depends if you're going for records i guess then you'll most prob need mono which offcourse works.
