I have been playing around over the past couple of months as well Saltiga.Like your self I have tried a few different high end brands with great results.
I purchased some custom poppers from a sales rep at the local fishing store a few months back. All I know is that they were custom made and came from up north. The name hand written on them is King Super Bloolper from what I can read. So far they have out preform every think else I have tried with some great results.
If any one else has these poppers and could full me in with some contact details it would be apprecaited as I would like to purchase some more..

Just picked up a Walker Bubbler from WS Laurie, a jet type with jet holes behind gills, I went bue, lifelike with eyes, owner hooks, could be used with plopping action. They even have black with silver fern colour, well packaged more for present I think.
This is there own design and by all accounts work ok,same price as Alco, 8 more days before testing.
How big are kings your getting.

You guys may wanna check out the Heru/Nomad/Darkstar Stick baits as well... Wahoo, Ulua and the new sinking Bopara are all mad fish producers...
On the popper side from the same company, along with the Cubera, the Skipjack popper is a bullet caster, which can be worked at higher speeds than the Cubera, which can often be the key on fish not willing to commit to the almighty cacophony of the Cubera....

Just spent a few days fishing with Mr Konishi from Carpenter, these lures are the **** man. The kingies dont chase em, they just smash em. He was here testing some new rods and bent one over on a 30 kg fish and also a few in the low to mid 20s, the rods are very, very impressive to say the least.
Most of the action was on stick baits not poppers.

These are the best poppers I have seen in New Zealand. They have been very popular in the store. The photos do not do them justice. The quality of the finish is outstanding. These raise fish a lot better and get more hits compared to other poppers that just get a chase up with the kingie swimming off without smacking the popper.
Our first shipment is almost sold out the second shipment is due tomorrow at Top Catch Takapuna. "Top Catch Tauranga will have early next week"
We will have more stickbaits in our second order as our first lot sold out! Will post pic's when they arive.
Stick baits will range from 80g - 200g with x3 styles of Nomad stick baits.
Come check them out:

The River 2 Sea Bubble Walker Popper is a quality popper, with a life-like shape and finish. It
combines the action of a walking bait with the spitting sound of a
popper. Openings in the gill plates create sound and leave a trail of
bubbles, to assist the fish in homing in. A Premium finish and treble
hooks help seal the deal.
- 2x treble hooks - Life-like shape and finish - Length: 18cm - Weight: 124g
Black Silver Fern Popper is exclusive to W.S Laurie
We have a few Poppers in stock,i could put them all up.(It would take up a few Pages)Just recieved the New RC Doggie popper, very nice.

Used one of the halco big poppers a lot this last trip to the sollies, interesting to see a popper with a different action, it got the hits, no problems, but have to say that I think the yo-zuri surface bulls still do the best all-round job. Different technique on them though, the yo-zuri you can use a lot more as a cross between a pencil popper/chugger, you can make it chug nicely when you want to, but when you want to retrieve the lure quickly (like as it nears the boat) it gets up and boogies with little effort. The chugger face of the halco makes it very easy indeed to make the popper bloop away brilliantly, a slow-slow blooping retrieve is very easy on this popper at pretty much any range, and certainly can scare up the fish, although it does run the veryvery large risk of getting nailed by a shark (...any slow moving popper in the tropics will get sharked more often than not, at least so I have found)... but these poppers seem less attractive to the bluefin/GTs which I think like a faster target, while the Halco sure was enthusiastically attacked by coral trouts and Red Bass. (couldn't believe it this trip though, the number of fish that missed the hooks....so I think I may have issues with hook size/bitability with the halcos....) The little yo-zuris I took up were also interesting, the new ones with the flash painted/textured bodies, can't remember their name, were also nice poppers to use, being a lot heavier relative to their size than the surface bulls, the cast beautifully, but tend to sit down in the water a little more, having a slightly heavier chugging action than the Surface bulls.
This Coral trout took the smaller yo-zuri lure... although I didn't actually have the lure in the shot as the damn fish had been thrashing all over the place before this shot, and I didn't want Rammo (or myself) to wear the damn hooks!
I will say, I like the colours available in th halco lures, their blue fusilier is a greta colour, bang on mimicing the baitfish the GTs nail so much up in the islands.
Well, thems my thinks on the poppers I used this last month. Now, ask me about the rods! The new rod I took up (as in the picture above) for 20lb gear, as made for me by the guys at Kilwell was just an awesome rod. I let several other fishoes have a go with it (all Aussies), and they loved the rod, wanted to buy it off me! (hah! fat chance, my toy, Mister!) Brilliantly light yet a ton of muscle, loaded up on some better fish like this gold spot trevally....
(that is the little yo-zuri buried in its gob), the rod just nailed the fish. Oh, the reel is a Quantum Cabo, nice reel, good speed, great line cap (300yrds of 30lb fireline) nice and solid, but at higher drag settings like I run, a terrible drag, at least on the example I was using anyhow.
Well, that is about it for now, better go do some wurk cheers , Stu.

As much as I like the look of the shiny ones I reckon that they are better at hooking the fisherman than the fish and at the price of them I think I might have to make a few of those "Here Fishy's " for my Fiji trip in July, the money I save on lures can go towards liquid refreshment

I am a huge fan of the Adhek Bali range - finishing equivalent to the absurdly expensive high end Japanese poppers, at a much lower price. Not sure if these are available retail in NZ? If not you can order direct from http://adhek.net/asfeng/asfmain_en.htm. A number of the chuggers*(Gecko, Bell, Pompom) are proven surethings for grunty black GTs.
My favourite though (and I am not alone) is the Long Goby - a sort of hybrid stickbait/skittering popper - fantastic lure available in 100 g and 140 g. Adhek Long Goby: http://www.xpeditiontackles.com/images/big/Long%20goby.jpg - http://www.xpeditiontackles.com/images/big/Long%20goby.jpg
I especially recommend the holographic finishes from Adhek.
Adhek himself is a pro guide and GT fisherman, and the whole range has been really well researched, testing and tried.Quality, quality lures.

This is the start of the topic and Faclo , please go back to Page1 to read the fist page. Saltiga he is asking whats the other favorites on the Market~!!! So I post the photos from the google pics to tell him what is hot on the market. Did I said those are my collection photos??? To be honest with you my collection is way bigger and better than what's on those photos. Many of my friends and customers knows. This is not the first time that you picking on me.To be honest to all the people here that I dont even know you and never met you before. So why would you do that to me? Fishing Net is a place to share information, techniques and fishing results. Being a owner of a tackle shop and also a mad keen offshore fisherman just as more of people here on this site, I hope you respect what I do and what I love to do. Personally I dont think you are qualified for you position on Fishing Net.

OK guys, keep it on topic. No point in needling one another, doesn't look good, doesn't read good, doesn't reflect well on anyone concerned. In fact.... I think I may just clean up a few of these posts to make everything nice and friendly again shortly, OK everyone? Give me about an hour or so. Please keep subsequent posts in this thread on topic - about poppers/stickbaits, lets move past this unseemly little spat.. oh, and the more pics of toys and gee-gaws that are posted up, the better.

Oh ExtremeF&D, let's play spot the lures, 2x killer vibes from R2C? (or are they Megabait ones?) then the pencil popper...hmmmm.. dunno that one, just a generic cheapie though, next is a Berkley chugger, then a Surecatch popper, and the bottom does indeed look like a big R2C bubble-pop or whatever. Am I close? :-)
