These guys need the book thrown at them and hopefully a huge fine but will not happen as we are too soft on criminals.

5 lashes across the soles of his feet with a rattan cane for each shellfish over the limit might make him not do it again.Amount to be divided by 5 and administered over a week.

If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito in your tent.

Ministry of Fisheries Northland operations manager Darren Edwards says it is extremely disappointing. He says it shows certain people are still willing to take their chances, despite the huge penalties.

Problem is the law doesn't see it as theiving. Those *****s are theiving from me, you, our friends and family and our future generations. If it was taxes or benefits they were theiving you can guarantee it would be a different story

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.

The "bro boat" operating out of the dive center in Kamo has got a lot to answer to in regards to cleaning out the scallops in the harbour, and all the crays along the tutukaka coastline.

Government funded dive courses for all the no hopers. How many full time recreational dive jobs come up in NZ. They do however obtain a recognized qualification in raping and pilaging. Maybe tikanga should be part of the syllabus.
