Was hoping to get up to Tutukaka to meet you Chris and a few other Fnet boys but I've got to much stuff on.

You planning on having a few jigging sessions while you are up there?

Interesting comment you are bringing tears to my eyes,

Now I can only state that I was asked by Top Catch WHANGAPARAOA  several months back if I would be interested in attending a Jigging presentation which would be run by the local store.

The presentation was to include a evening of information sharing from some of the top distributors and Charter Skippers in NewZealand In regards to jigging.

Now I for one appreciate the hard work that goes into setting these evenings up.Top Catch and Fishing and Hunting have done the hard yards by going that extra mile to look after there customers.Thumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs Up
Thumbs UpThumbs Up
Now drop into your local store and ask them to set a evening of jigging presentation up for you seen you are curious.Embarrassed

Geeze Reece, a couple weeks back on and you are up to your trouble making ways again.

Get this through your thick skull, I am not going to go to the expense and time involved if a store cannot organise such an event for their own benefit.  I believe that my personal time and effort is worth more than that.
I will do a jig presentation to any store or club that will put in some honest effort to attract interested jiggers.  I have gone as far south as Christchurch and up north to Keri Keri next week AT MY OWN EXPENSE to try and educate jiggers in this artform and to attract business for retailers.

I'm not hard to find, if somebody wants to organise such an event that fits in with my schedule and makes the effort to attract interested numbers, I'm generally happy to oblige.  But my time and effort is valuable to me and although it's free, it has to be earned.

Since the Wellington stores are not interested, why don't YOU put on such an event?  Hire a hall.  Advertise on radio, magazines, newspapers.  Put on the free drinks, food, giveaways.  If you think your community is missing out, YOU ORGANISE IT!  If you want me to present it, I will turn up.
Don't ever accuse me of not caring or doing anything for this fishing community, especially since you have done nothing yourself!

All you ever do is **** stir and disrespect.  Since when have you ever supported anything that I say or sell?

Sheesh!

Looking forward to hearing  your seminar in kerikeri Chris, I think that you have done a great deal of work and promotion over the years with regards to Jigging, and I for one am greatful. It was 2005 when I first became aware of this style of fishing whilst reading the deep jigging site. Your willingness to share information openly, has seen this style of fishing grow exponentially.
Catching kingfish is for my money the poor mans gamefishing, and I love it, my manager at work wishes I could show the same enthusiasm for my job..... FAT CHANCE!!!
So once again thank you and look forward to hearing you speak.
P.S Oceanus drags arrived, I will bring them with me

If I sponsored a forum such as Chris does here, I too would be sick and tired of people being smart arse and abusive.
The guy is trying to get around and do what he can at his own expense with distributors that have 'asked' for his contribution.
I'm sure he's done more for Jigging in this country than anyone else I can think of.
There's nothing wrong with sharing your opinions - hey that's what these forums are for.
If you have a dig in good humour I see no problem with that either - but keep at it or get personal and you're bound to get a sharp response sooner or later.
Plenty of 'plugs' in this forum for other suppliers too (you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work that one out).
Maybe they could start their own forum and 'contribute' some sponsorship to the site themselves?
Now put up your fishing pix and write a good yarn - that's what we all like to see and read here.

Been a hard road Jason, thanks for your early participation back in 05.  Remember the job i had getting the first jig-only tournament going in the BIO's which you duly won.   I'm pleased to see the Oceanus reel has dealt to plenty of big Kings.  Still have that baby Monster Busta?   Look forward to finally meeting you and getting those washers off you.

Ginga, you have been part of this jig promotional thing along with Nuthead and JTF a long time ago.   See what you got people into!

BA, I'm flying up to Auk and can only carry a few jigs along with the rest of my gear.  See ya Monday.

Chris I have made arrangements for the Zenaq to be burried with me,( NOT CREMATED) i really apreciated the way you took care of my dilemma, prior to heading upto the kings. I have of course replaced the first JM500 with a JMPS500, as  well as a smaller JM,  the Oceanus has performed faultlessly as i am sure the new JM reels will do.

We've done a couple demo/seminars here in SA at local clubs and Tackle Shops, which have been really well recieved, as jigging in SA is at about the level it was at least 5 years back for you guys in NZ... But through us bringing in the right tackle, and doing demos etc, and guys starting to get into some great fish, its building fast!

Once the guys see what the equipment can do etc in the demos, they really start paying attention.... Then we chuck Heavy Metal at Ranfurly on the big screen once we're done and its just classic to sit back and watch all these guys jaws drop.... Only thing left for us to do is walk around mopping up the drool....

As we call our Kings here in SA just "Yellowtail" you hear these echos through the hall or tackle shop " Did you see the size of that f**kin Yellowtail?" With 50 guys pointing at the screen with wide eyes and repeating with every new fish" Jeeeeesus, look at that thing!!"...

And then Jimi lifts that massive horse half way through and grown men fall over with envy... its pretty hilarious....

These seminars are awesome, even if its just to learn a few knots, polish your technique, chat to similarly intersted jig fishos, and meet a few people who know alot more than you or less than you, everyone learns, and its a good excuse for a few beers and a some good times...

Well said Nepps, get along to these talks, you'd be surprised what little gems of knowledge you'll leave with.
And it dont matter how much you think you know, theres always that little tip that you may pick up that might just make you go " Hmmm i might try that"
And speaking of little,i was only asked to go on that trip to make the Kings look big,we couldn't afford a blue screen,so my four foot three figure was used on the big fish shots.
PS the four foot eight PS500 felt like a big game rodLOL

Jimi - I tell all our guys at the demos/seminars that you are all the same height as Shane, so the fish seem even bigger to them!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Thanks heaps Chris, Top Catch and crew. Very informative seminar.

If I was after a new rod I'd be waiting for those new Jigstars, serious, serious bang and bling for buck. I think these rods are gonna give the jigging market a good shake up. I want one.

And those JM PE6 reels, ohhhh sooo nice.

Yep, top night with information, some great deals and giveaways. Pity for the husband and wife combo that left early and missed on on a new JM250 and a free charter...

When will there be another Jigging Roadshow like this? I wasn't able to attend last time, so I'm very sorry.
