Hi just a query, has  anyone dived around the coromandel town side of the peninsula around papa aroha etc and found crayfish, just interested to know if there actually is any crayfish on that side of the coromandel.

there are crays there but small, the trick is to find ione thats legal.
Almost all my diving is around there to be honest

There is a spot that has the 2 biggest crays I have ever seen and theyy are that big as they live in 2 (or 3) caves that have an enterance of about 400mm but opens to a huge cavern inside
If you could get in the enterence, there would be no problem but there is no way you can get in
Each year we go back and say gidday to them. If I did ever get one, they would go straight back
