Hmmm, I've caught more and better fish on the Squidgys and they tend to stay on the jig head better too.

i used a two year old pack of squidges at the barrier last week and caught plenty of fish. Was using the pearl white and putting the paste just by the hook. I thought they worked well and they don't dry out. I like the gulp too but think the action of the squidge action works well when casting into the rocks.Suppose it comes down to what you like

Gulp by a nautical mile for me too
have given the squidgies their fair share of water time to be fair and they just didnt produce for me outside workups

Both are excellent products. Gulp seems to give more consistent results.
Squidgies with the juice smeared on work well. The juice works well on the Slug Gos too. It doesn't just wash off like half the other stuff available.
I'm liking the Slams at the mo. Fishing alongside my mate Ducky the other day who was solely using Gulp, the Slam jerkshads slayed the Gulps 8-1.

Much research has proven to my satisfaction that Gulp is the most effective "all round" soft bait. If you were only allowed 1 brand in your tackle bag, it would have to be that one. I have used the squidgies but haven't managed to catch a fish with one!

agreed gulp is best all round but squidgies are also an excellent product...
they are great value for money and catch a heap of fish as well... lemon chickens slimey macckas and pillie are my favourites.

I'm a big fan of the Squidgies and use them all the time. I'm not a fan of Gulps for plenty of reasons BUT they catch more consistantly than Squidgies.

Of the 2 options, Gulp. Mind you, Slams did well the otehr day, but then again so did the Mister Twister Exudes. Hey-ho, if the fish are hungry, they'll eat a banana skin! But... gulp.. I like the supple, flicky nature of the jerkshads, and the tail action of the swimmin'shads is great too. Cheers, Stu.

The smaller squidgies are very good - much better than the larger ones Ihave found.
Around LB the other day the smaller squidgies in pillie flavour outfished gulp easily - the gulps were getting nibbled by the rubbish fish and squid while the squidgies held up ok.
However - around rangi the gulps are outperforming the squidgies and consistently doing so.
I use and reccommend both.

Have done well around Rangi on the Atomic 3" jerkshads lately. They're about the size of the bait cruising around. I've stockpiled a few packs as you can't get them locally anymore

I use both but often finding I go towards Gulp when the fishing is tough. Saphire shine has to be the one for me, but i always have a pack of Lemon chickens with the love juice sachet! I find when good snapper bite the lemon chickens it splits the bait on the barbs of the lead head on the jig, but because you get more in a pack i am happy to lose a few baits to good fish.
I also use the juice on some ATOMIX I got from Oz and it works well!

I've trialled the Squidgys 3 seperate full day mission against Gulps - Gulps over 40 fish, Squidgies none, didley squat, nada..really disappointed in them.
------------- I've always wanted to be somebody...I guess I should have been more specific.

biodegradable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! think about the future of your kids :D
Squidgies work well on certain days as do all soft baits I guess. I have no Favorites , Slam and Gulp would be at the higher end of my usage list though

Gulps overall much better. Last Thursday morning along Waiheke the snaps were all regurgitating bait fish so tried a Squidgy pillie and managed one on that then tried a 4" Sluggo Alewife as it looked like it would match the hatch and got one on that but both attracted much less interest than the Gulps, one of which got at least 6 snaps before falling apart. Pink Shine and Sweet n Sour still the business for me.
