Subject: Twisted Sista puts the B in bling
Date Posted: 06 Oct 2008 at 5:48pm
After watching Mozza fish with his Kojack 250 acid wrap I knew I just had to have one and so the journey began. First was the color and as I had a game rod Kojack had built in a iridescent paint I knew that was what I wanted. That rod is called "the"B!t@h" and so this one was immediately labeled the twisted sista. first I decided on no gimble knock

then the balancer had to be red and add some more bling

the reel seat was chosen for size and grip to fit my hand

then came the call for a left hand spiral using the best gold guides we could find

to say I am very impressed with the result is a massive understatement as the rod is a work of true art that has impressed all who have seen it and see it you need to to fully appreciate what happens when talent and style and a passion for rod building all mix in one pot.
Not just a rod but a treasure for me and I look forward to B!t@h slapping many many kingfish with this weapon
I will fit it with a gold OJ2000 spooled with 50lb braid for lighter work but the Z40 and 37 will be the call for the kings and White Island

first trip will be to Tairua wednesday week. Unless that is the weather allows a wee side trip to a rock not far from here that hopefully has something willing to play.
Then of course Karp might take me time traveling to the mokes for a splash on the black Blur if I drop enough hints.

very very nice Boulder.......... a little story........
I went to visit Mr Kojak a few weeks ago and saw the said rod twisting around on the racks along with mr JTF's latest creations so when I was chatting to Boulder on my return I told him about all the wonderful things I had seen in Kojaks shed and I also told my mate boulder that kojak was pissed with him and had stopped building the twisted sista
sorry for raising your blood pressure old mate but the rod does look like a piece of art and well worth the wait
whats the advantage in the zig zag spiral?

Trust you to notice Mozz@Jimi. You will keep my friends. In theory Hmmmmm. Cant let to much out of the bag. In practice to distribute the line on in a more even manner instead of to just one side of the reel.Other advantage's you tell me Jimi when you two new babies arrive at the end of the week .

I had to laugh when Boulder finally arrived last Thursday night (about 3 hours late) clutching his prized new possesion. I just assumed another rod, but no, as he tenderly removed it from its inch thick protection his face lit up like a kid in a lolly shop. (you all know that face i'm sure (smiley eyes and squinchy cheeks with a grin from ear to ear).
Lucky i'm not the jealous type as we might as well not have been in the room. His eyes were just for he rod. He eventually, reluctantly, parted with it for a second or two while he had a quick cuddle with the grandies, but then eyes straight back to his baby. He cradled it, turned it back and forth in the light and rambled non stop about its features. I have to admit to being a bit of a features virgin and to me the colour was good, i liked the bling and the old fella was stoked. But clearly, there was way more to it than that.
He (bravely) left it here the next day and my mind came up with a cunning plan to trick the old fella (get one of my budget rods from the garage and play swapsies for his bling) but after a couple of goes, alas my old budget was too long for the protector. Plan foiled. bugger.
Could've been an oursies. Could've been funny (from my side) . Could've caused the old fella to have a heart attack and rethink his will . Might not have been worth it after all. Glad i left the toy alone.
I guess some things are not to be messed with!
Enjoy old man, enjoy!

nice one BossyBoots......hahahahahaha.....that prank could have been the final nail!!
Was just around at Boulder's and Sue's and you'll never believe this and I didn't have a camera to bare witness to this strange event but Pops was elbow deep in the stove cleaning/scrubbing like a man-slave processed....apparently paying penance for naughty unauthorized fishing gear expenditure.....
although I did also notice the Twisted Sister has pride and place in the corner of the dining room!!......so that makes as far as i can tell THREE tackle alcoves now.....garage, upstairs loft and now corner of the dining room.....that man has many issues!!

I am thinking the smart money would be on another one as well, let us not forget that this is Koro we are talking about the grand master of the TAS Ho clan with powers thousands of times stronger the your average Ho.
So I would say there is a secret Stash akin to Area 61 somewhere out there with out doubt

Koro did 'accidentally' leave a box of fishing related "stuff" at my place yesterday claiming Alzheimer as the reason but in retrospect now I think it was a rouge to try and start another off-site TAS receptacle.....not only twisted rods, but a twisted mind as well!!

do a google search for acid and/or spiral wrapped rods - the subject is about as contentious as Ford vs Holden...but after much study I personally believe there are advantages to acid wrapped rods......for me it comes down to a more natural load distribution and eliminates blank twist
