Just a reminder on how to post Images....

The site accepts image sizes up to 4meg but will automatically re-size them to 450pixels wide which takes a bit of time.  If you can resize any images you want to upload to 450 pixels wide first the process is a lot faster.

1. Click on a 'reply' button and then click the image icon in the reply box NB: there is no image icon in the 'Quick Reply' box.

1. You have a couple of options. You can insert a picture (click in you post where you want the image to go) from your list you have aleady uploaded to the Fishing Website server (see the list under File Name - click on the image from your list then go to step 6) or you can select a new picture from your hard drive by clicking the browse button......

3. If you are loading a new picture select the one you want from your hard drive by double clicking on it.

4. ClicYou'll then see this screen - click the 'Upload' button

5. You'll get this message - click OK. If you're uploading a large file it will take a while to upload and then be resized. Large files will take even longer on dial-up and may crash and burn..... not recomended.

6. You'll then see the picture you want to insert into your post. Just click OK and it's done

Job done!

As simple as all that seems,I still cannot post pictures.I click on the tree ,but the screen that comes up does not have a "browse" button-so I cannot select anything.I have just had my better half have a look and she has given up also.Any further advice??

Falco, it may have something to do with being a new user. If I remember correctly, you need to have a number of posts (20?) before you could post images. Mods, please help.

Actually you can ignore the above, I seem to have met the magic number.

Is there still a restriction on posting images until you have a certain number of posts?

Likewise don't seem to have the Browse option.

Is it really necessary to have this restriction??

make sure your images are not too large and saved as a jpeg file.
Try uploading pics to a photo share server like myphotothing.com
then use that to insert images.
Also right click on your photo folder and make sure you can share on network(not sure if this helps but it prob does)
It may be because of an anti virus, firewall etc.
Or like me...I had a virus and have spent all night getting rid of it. nasty little bug, wouldnt let me do anything on the net without pop up windows spamming my pc so it ran sooo slow.
Virus was spamming my pc with dlls.

It worked!! But I had to create the reply with the image, then copy it which would cause my browser to freeze. I restarted it then pasted everything back into a reply!!! Bloody long way around it but at least it worked

I can post one image but when I go to post a second image or edit a post with an image in it, the screen freezes.  I cannot go backwards or cancel out.  I have to escape from the internet and log back on again.  Never used to behave like this.

Anyone else having problems posting images and emoticons today?
The insert buttons don't seem to be accepting user prompts - or is it just me?

Also, just tried to reply to a post and was told I was posting in a moderated forum and the reply would be checked before others get to see it.....  What was that all about?

Managed to post a couple of pics in the Funny Pictures thread by switching over to Opera - then Firefox wouldn't work when I went back to it.  Had to restart the computer to get back on-line - but it took freakin ages and I still cannot post images or emoticons....even when I go back to edit a post.

Just wondering how many posts you have to have before you can upload pictures?

My wife collected a couple of shellfish today washed up on Omaha beach at high tide while I tried to wide out through 4 waves to set a pot for paddle crab.  I think they might be ruheruhe (trough shell) and was curious if this is right, if they are edible and legal to take.  There were about 20 washed up but I chucked most back as the were about 3-4cm.

Picture Quality?
I have uploaded a good quality 16 megapixal pic from camera to computer to site, without resizing it first. The result is a fuzzy image, the trout in this is very poor compared to original
Would resizing before upload correct the quality shift?

Posted By: Grunta

It should do - if you resize to a resolution of anything under 2000 pixels it should get the file size down and will upload a lot faster too.

I have a Vodafone android phone and I'm trying to upload photos taken on the phone. I've created a new file as instructed but can't seem to proceed any further. I've clicked on the little tree thingi, get page with UPLOAD FILE in the top left. Nothing happens. Plz help.

Hmmm I can't post a picture either. Seems to be a common complaint.

I can get it uploaded as per instruction but it won't "Preview".

Any ideas folks?

Am on IE7 (I think).

Edit: I have solved my problem. I re-named the pic when I downloaded it from phone. Apparently the forums File Manager doesn't like that.
I re-downloaded it with the original name and it has uploaded and views ok. Lesson learned.

Cheers.

Since the latest upgrade it is a lottery for me whether I can successfully post a pic. The pics are all small sized jpegs, I can load them to the fishnet drive but transferring from there to the fishnet webpage is a totally lucky dip, sometimes it take 4,5 m ore than 6 attempts.

Sometimes I quit come back try ahgain, no go and then wiat and wait, try again and sometimes success.

I even tried renaming the pics to short names...

I just tried right now and same again I gave up after 5 attempts.

Sometimes I quit come back try ahgain, no go and then wiat and wait, try again and sometimes success.

I even tried renaming the pics to short names...

I just tried right now and same again I gave up after 5 attempts.
