I've got one with the matching TR rod. Have only fished with it a couple of times - it feels good but has not yet been fully tested.

I have one and its an absolute machine!. It will run 16kg's of drag and is as smooth as buggery!. A very well balanced, excellent performing reel Thumbs%20Up

16kg of drag would have the thing maxed out, the drag in them is way too small.

Small? The main gear and adjustable versa drag stack is pretty large in comparison to the size of the reel....

And speaking of strawberry, that muppet lost/stole my piece of sh*t 975ld reel i took into smart marine for a service about 3 years ago, last I ever saw of that reel!

16kg of drag small? Name a few reels with more-stella(spinning excepted). Torsa nope, Tiagra nope, accurate  nope, Ocea nope. An 80W Tiagra only has 20kg. Whilst Im at it-who males a decent 2 speed jig reel.

you have named them for me the Torsa easy my Accurate 665XNB AND THE OCEA JIGGER  TOO EASY.   tWO SPEED JIG REELS ARE FOR GIRLS.

Really. The Ocea has 7.0kg max. The Tora is 15.3kg max. According to the net the 665 has 11.2kg. Do you have a link which says otherwise as id be interested.

Are harness lugs for girls to?Read up a little about the Accurate 2 speed jig reels-raved about. The author must be a big girl too eh?

we got my flatmates torsa20 to 20kg of drag over a jigwrex rod and my oceanus30 to 14kg at max  using the same method we check game gear. both had a bit more in them but lost freespool

Mozz-Max drag whilst achieving free spool? Im not debating the fact anyway-more the point the OP said 16kg was far to low. Im suggesting it isn't.

mozz-didnt see the free spool bit- im talking about maintaining freespool

Why would you need a two speed? harden up
The Accurates already have enough trouble with there cast control , the amount of stuff they put in there to get a two speed can only spell more trouble.
The reels put out with lug's on are far to big for a serious jigger, unless you were jigging in seriously deep water say 400m plus.
go get an Accurate crank up the drag and you will see, dont get one with that stupid cast controll thing.

I was enquiring because my elderly father who is 72 isnt as hard as you mate so maybe he can use a 2 speed reel, ok.

Anywho I had a jig with a torque 300 and found it quite nice but a little wobbly side to side, a smaller version would be good.

Burwood,

The Ocea Jigger 4000/5000 series comes with 15 kg out of the box - about 5 kgs more with drag enhancements. You must be thinking of the smaller OJ 2000/3000 series.

Yeah it doesnt make sense Chopsticks given the reel is  dedicated jigger built to take 80lb braids. I think I'll get one as a replacement to my long lost Torsa

But shes going on trademe, put the cash toward another Powerspell.
Already got me 15-24 kg viper on there. Should get a new Powerspell out of those two...... hopefully
