Just curious to know, how common are Mako Sharks around the Mahurangi, Kawau, Little Barrier area?

Is the area out there suitable, or not enough feed, "blue" water etc to bring them in.

And has anyone caught them before from around this area?

I was hooking into them in January about 10 mins of Piha on the West Coast. Pretty exciting stuff!

Not common but they are present.

They have caught (in nets) of Takapuna beach, as have Gt Whites.
