you guys out there who are jigging with Spin Reels, what sought of leader length are you running. I imagine not alot or not as much as you would like going off Chopsticks report and the advice given from their recent trip to the banks. I'm looking at most 350mtrs of 80lb braid on my Stella ( i dont want to go any less than that) which doesn't leave alot of room for leader. I'm guessing have excess leader length outside the reel, say 5-6mtrs(would prefer more) which shouldn't be a problem until you pull something in.

I use only 300m of jigman braid 80lb and a 6m 150lb wind on leader.Probadly down to 250m as i have snaged up a bit,i think it's plenty for deepths up to 150m,if you hook up and a fish takes more than 50m of string of your done for anyways most times.

I have about 330 metres of 80lb Jigstar (counted the colours), with 5 metres of 130lb leader on the Stella 20k. Connected with the pr knot. Just fits on the spool...

Crank the drag upBig%20smile I have seen some pretty awesome leader that was rated at 200lbs(possibly more) (chopsticks can help with that one) But I would have guessed that it was way thinner than the leader that I am currently using, which is only 80lbs. I re rig my leader for each trip and as long as I have a couple of turns on the reel I'm happy. So my leader lenght is start of trip about 4 -5 mtrs. Looks a bit ugly with all the leader packed on to start with but it soon gets in the water and the rest they say is history.
