Heres some photos of the Rods Kojak has kindly made for myself anf him to use on our up coming Ranfurley trip.
Special thanks to Chris W for his input and suppying the blanks and the Spacers etc..
Photos will speak for them selves
Blue paint looks the part in the sun
Nice gold thread with gold silicoln carbide guides
Inlay of a  jig in the butt section of the JM400 with alot of coats of clears to protect it.Thiers 4 different jigs round the blank
Jigging master spacer on the JM150...this ones my favourite, what a fantastic action the blank has. This one will be a weapon on the snapper under the birds in the gulfWink
The calstar jigging rod will have to come along for a ride as well
Damb .....
This is the butt sectiuon of the jm150 ,no gimble knock just a new alloy rubber butt cap.The grips are turned on the lathe to make it all fit together asthetically
So thats the rods were taking on our trip (and the spiral wrap jm400)
Thanks to kojak for spending a small fourtune on the rods and reels.
Cheers Chris W for the help with the set up and the advise as well as the blanks.
Heres  a few pics of the power spells and terminator rods
Had a good play with the powerspell rods today and was very impressed.
While my jigging experience is limited ive learnt alot about blanks and rods thru Kojak. The jm blanks are impressive to say the least, watching the dvds does them no justice. You have to hold onto one with a reel on it and braid thru the guides and then pull hard to see how strong they are.
Looking forward to killing some kings and puka on them in 2 weeks

I want, no need, that black and gold one, with the fancy drilled holes too.... in 4kg for a Soft Bait setup, using the Stella 2500 (4lb Braid line)cheers Wayne, Kojack - you reading this? I want more sexy bling than a really sexy bling type thing, might even put the full colour Catch logo onto it too, I supply the sticker?..

...it's my Chrissy present to me (can I have it by then Kojack?)

Oh and can the grips be cork, leather or foam? Or some other space age technical cool looking stuff? Titanium Graphite?

Come over and have a play with them, hook the line onto the daughters trike and get her to tear down the drive on it then slam the reel into gear and haul the bike up the hill with the neighbour kids chasing......more fun than an all you can eat pie buffet

Works both ways Drew, i come up with an idea and he makes it.If its crap im stuck with it, if its awesome he uses the design to make more.
The spiral wrap was a classic example, took me quite a while to convince him to build it (lots of research on US rod building forums) but now its one of his best rods ..

I agree with Keenas. Irregular mowing of lawns causes the patchyness when you try to cut too low.

Sounds like a plan its that 100JM noodle that I  am interested in (refer numerous txt's LOL) heard about em when I was in the deep dark tackle abyss of Wellywood but never seen one (something about being rare and rocking horse shyte etc etc etc Wink).

New blanks you say bro... sure a few Corona's might grease the wheels there mate Wink

Thanks Wayne but all the credit to Kojak - not me.
I was looking sideways at that JM100 blank for SB, would love to see it built up.  If anyone can make it happen it'll be Kojak.

S/b rods need a similar action to a jig rod, maybe a bit softer in the tip.And thats what the jm100 has, cant wait to see it built up same as the jm150 hes done.Seems to have a thicker holding coat of paint on it than the other blanks hope it can be sanded off..

Try mowing across the normal grain every now and then - helps stand the grass upright too

I've taken a bunch of stuff out of this thread that I thought was spoiling an otherwise interesting thread.

Behave yourselves boys.
