the Snaps and J/Ds are in the gulf and are taking Jigs,

throw those S/Ps away and try your luck on some metal, one jig in most cases will catch more fish than 5 bags of S/Ps could produce and can still be used time and time again.......

just remember to retie your knots at some stage as even they cant handle the pressure as much as your jig can......

6kg line nylon or braid is working well anything lighter and your likely to be taken to the cleaners.....

those Zest things are doing the damage......

Not pimped Cod ...Custom in every sense of the word, pimping is for ameturs who are into mass production of expensive rods that are all the same

This coment was not dirrected at jigging master rods, they also do not need pimping at all

No not yet Justin.  Been really looking forward to seeing them.
I'll get Jimi to bend the JM400 next week.

The pimped up factory JM rods are due next week too, yayyy!  I'll send up a couple for Wayne and Kojak to muse over.  Not in the custom class of a Kojak but still very nice and with plenty of bling.

Is this guy making his own rods from scratch which would come under the heading of custom,or is he modifying other rods.
And are you saying that every rod ever made in a factory is made by ameturs, which as you call pimping.
Pimping is an african/american term used by ametures who f##k around with old cars, and think that they are custom gods.
JM and seven sea and zenack and mogi rods are not mass produced in factories by under paid ametures,a few craftsmen hand make these rods.

Cutting up shimano rods and claiming they are better than standard, claiming to be able to make shimano drags better by pimping them.that is pimping.
Im Not claiming  that every rod ever made in a factory is made by ameturs.
Far from it ..you said that i did not.Factory built rods are built to high standards and designed by proffesionals for the masses and on a budget so the end product is competitive amongst its piers.
Custom rods are rods that are made for the individual by a proffesional rod builder.
Kojak has built 4 custom JMrods and they are all different, they were all built to suit the reels he brought for the blanks and built for him to use.
The guide spacings are all different and the reel seats are slightly different on each rod.they are built for the individual.
I know JM, seven sea,  zenack, and mogi rods are not mass produced in factories they are custom rods built to the highest of standards.
Yes i know what pimping is i have Discovery channel.
You havent taken what ive said in context,i was having a dig at some one and it was not JM or Chris W .
Hopefully you will get too see the Kojak rods that Chris has at the moment as your opinion of them would be welcomed.

Very good stuff there Lethal - just getting my stuff together with jigs now. It's been too long between jigs! I was thinking of either my Trinidad12 or 14 reels - both have braided line on now, 6lb and 10lb respectively. Those Jd's must've been fast swimmers to get into jigs?! Just got a couple of the pink triangular zests recently, they look the biz. - and obviously do it.

Do you use a swivel?

Tried jigs at/around the Barrier this Saturday just been but only managed to lose a couple ot the snakes - a 100gm zest and the old faithful 150gm grim reaper.

Wetdream didnt manage to catch anything except snakes on bait at the same time so I guess there were no hungry snap's around.

Got onto them in the shallows but no place for jigging there.

Thats a great haul Lethal, I find myself using jigs more and more for snapper these days. a $10 jig that can catch 100+ fish easy vs. a$10 pack of softbaits that may produce 0-10 fish. its not a hard decision
