Loads of info on here about chasing kingis but what about hunting for other species for us poor southerners any hints on chasing bottom species like blue cod, rig and school sharks. What else are you catching on jigs? and how do you do it, I'm really keen to find out. Also who's jig fishing out of a Kayak? Is it possible?

Id try a smallish (100-150g) jig for blue cod. They are about the stropiest little *****s on the ocean floor so I don see why they wouldnt have a go.

Dont know about sharks though? probably just try bounching a jig up and down off the bottom (yoyo). Somethings bound to eat it...

I have heard that sharks are sensitive to minute electrical currents given of by metal objects in the water. This 'sense' probably tells the shark that the 'jig' is not food resulting in less chance of them striking.

Good topic, Blue cod are partial to a bit of metal, they are aggressive little suckers. We get all sorts of odd fish out in the deep water, red snapper, alfonsino and plenty of squid as well. Anything that eats live fish(most fish) will attack a bit of metal, i would be using some of the smaller jigs like the others suggested
