Hi.
How do you rate the Saltige againts the Accurates.
I have 870xnc and several Bigger Saltigas. 2 x 30 and 1 x 40. Was thinking of a 20 over 15. and maybe a new Torque200. They getting good name too Using the Accurate and a 30 for a coupla days starting tomorrow.
Scientific research. Fishing for Red fish in the Green Zones round here. Catch, weigh, tag. Release. Everything supplied.
Should let us know how they faring ater a coupla yrs of total closure.
Plus. I should learn a lot too. I'm a Jigger, Lure fisherman. Haven't bait fished for over 25 yrs.
I'm also using a Daiwa Black Sheep 250 with a T'curve Barra stick for light jigging. Beautiful reel But rod lacking. Any suggestions on a better rod. Possibly a tad longer to do a bit of Popping with too.
That should keep you experts going for a while... Every word of advice. Gratefully recieved. and Stored.
Regards
Macka17
Also. All you brains out there. What's a good Harness for jigging. I'm 66 and have a crook shoulder. After a while it lets me know. A reasonable sit in harness would probably help.

The Saltigas are very good reels as are the Accurates, this is a personal preference thing. The Accurates have more drag pressure than Saltigas and are lever drag reels - I'd probably go for the Accurate Narrow reels. The SA20 is close to the 870XN in capacity so maybe choose the SA15, again a personal preference. Torque reels are very heavy, fondled one but never used, not my type of reel for jigging.
I'm not familiar with the Daiwa Black Sheep 250 reel, is this a 2500 sized spinning reel?
Harnesses are generally not used when jigging, do you mean a gimble belt? There are some specialist jigging gimble belts, the jigging Master costs around $400 but you can get away with the inexpensive gimble belts from Dynatech and similar models. If you have a crook shoulder, I'd suggest jigging from the gimble belt instead of underarm jigging that the Japanese do. You would do well with a longer rod (5'6" - 6') for this style of jigging.

hi Chris,
Just on the JM Power Spells, are they all parabolic in load shape? I was in talking to Jinger at bartons yesterday, (he loves his rods eh), he has a few JM's. I looked at a red 400. I will be looking at a spin version for Stella 20. Are they available? I'm based in Petone. may also consider the terminator if I could view both at same time..
