Very tempting.....

The red coloured one was a bit too "racey" for me though.LOL

If I was to get just one, what rod rating would you/Chris recommend for southcoast/kapiti? I have a Saltist 40.

CW will explain. As the Asians confuse us with different ratings on two rods that are meant to be different,JM400 and JM Power Spell 400.

those are the published figures from JM.  But bending both models, it was difficult distinguishing any differences in strenght between them. Mind you, I wasn't putting 29kg of load on it!   These figures can be a little confusing as the high strenght is really a measurement of it's butt power, not the rest of the blank which actually does the work.  The rest of the blank is the most important as it has to be soft enough to handle braid and work the jigs.  You can get high kg lift ratings from a broom stick but it won't work a jig!

The new powerspells are very bling...

What kind of bling is required to purchase one of these? And is there a model suited to spinning reel?
