haha well .... do you really want to know ? last year her Beagle - honey , of all gay names, gave birth to one puppy it was stillborn , of course lots of tears ensued and i dutifully brushed the tears from her brow and nodded in affirmation when she asked me to bury the dead pup, she was too upset and went and met her grey lynn friends for a group hug and lattes'.

Well .... it was summer and the ground was as hard as hell , so i popped it into an ice cream container and shoved it into the bottom  of the bait  freezer with an honest intention of putting it out with the rubbish on Thursday - she'd never know aye Wink i did put a wee cross up in the corner of the garden .

Anyway ....... 9 months pass by and we are a melded family , my Bull Terrier .... Busta and her Beagle .... Honey , i HATE Honey the gayest , dumbest bed jumping, hair all over your clothes ...... waste of breathe ever .
I really want Busta to eat Honey ..... hes turning into a Grey Lynn poof and forgetting his South Auckland roots , i have an Epiphany ! the frozen Beagle would make great bait ..... so when shes not home i torment Busta with the frozen puppy he starts to get a bit evil towards the beagle .... yay !!  hes hating Beagles , the old busta is back.

Sadly .....one morning whilst teasing Busta with the frozen Beagle , she comes though the door and catches me red handed on the back lawn -frozen beagle puppy held aloft , Bust leaping at it  ......me hissing at him , What do you say ?

Door slams shut .......... "nil by mouth sign" goes around her neck ..... im in deeeeeeeeeeeeeep shyte .

My future summer is going to be garden centres, craft shows , stage plays , dance productions ...... im in hell .

Never Freeze the Beagle .

caught again this week Koro , her mother is staying with us and i made a remark about her community spirit , with the obvious way she had embraced MO-vember ..... went down like a lead balloon , christ the womans got a growth that would make Rasputin feel bald .

Mrs isnt happy with me at the moment , the frozen beagle and remarks about her hairy mum are severely blunting my fishing aspirations , i cant help myself .... my tongue wags and her mother ( from behind ) looks remarkably like a silverback gorilla that's had its legs dipped in wax .

Im on strike 2 , and i think she has a 3 strike policy ..... might be selling some reels Cry

I have been dreading this.... looking back over this thread we certainly have a loyal albeit small following for the Smudge Report. I cant let the fans down that much is true.

I've been scratching my head on this for about two months, the forum has got so big I don't know who I can and cant take the <insert word for bodily fluid of your choice here> out of any more. It was all so easy a few years ago, look back on the early smudge reports, man these guys deserved it! Of course the translations are every bit as important and dont want to loose that aspect.

Was thinking of a 'Meet the Mods' segment but .... would it work? They are mostly all old boring guys like me who spend their evenings wearing smoking jackets and slippers in front of a warm fire with their trusty Labrador at their feet. Could make for some tedious stuff.

Would it be the same if I took one of the many truly expert anglers from this forum and did a straight interview? Could I manage a straight interview?

Suggestions welcome. I do have a target in mind .... of course .... but lets see what the people want!

BTW MOOCHA clear your inbox!!!!!!!!

Of course it's changed and for the better too. Cynical some of you may be but there are some pretty good fishermen here. Plenty of other places you can go if you don't like it. If it wasn't good in the first place it wouldn't have grown so much.

Sven seems to have dissapeared, Drew last posted 2 weeks ago, Damo still posts quite regularly when not too busy, not sure who Bill G is, Carbine still posts regularly (although not sure how many posts have any fishing info), and yes we all miss PDS's one liners, although I see he has started to pop back up on these forums with a name change recently.
The place is much bigger and less 'intimate' than it may once have felt, but unless new 'members' were barred from joining, it was always going to need to evolve. Personally, there are a couple of the 'old school' who I miss from these forums, but there are a whole bunch of 'new' people whose posts and company I have enjoyed. Things are a bit different, but there are plenty of pros to go with the cons.

I nominate Tzer - met him when we went to Waihau Bay last year. Good bloke, lots of his ideas in his new (then) Surtees, good fisho.

The only flaw in his character is that he lives somewhere south of the Bombay Hills so therefore it doesn't exist.

Have had the same thoughts too Falco, it certainly has it's hard core fans the old Smudge Report none moreso than good old. There is some truly funny stuff here. Nothing terribly insightful but you got to hand it to Bushie there's some great fishing.net moments. I agree Tzer is indeed a top bloke and will keep him in mind for the future but I have just selected my next one already.

As for you of2fish I bear you no malice at all but your negativity isn't welcome in this thread.

Tzer would be a good candidate despite his acquaintancesLOL

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the guy at all. After all he managed a couple of knockdowns and landed a shortbill spearfish while we may as well have been trolling lures through the sahara behind a series 1 landrover.

Bloody showoff Wink

Not so Dave they were skillfully deployed lures to catch the rare and ferocious Bush Mountain Marlin.

The Sahara ones require 130 reels and line as they grow to 600kg.
