I notice it's eyes and dorsal are on the bottom ? it must be a hybrid

Was this fish taken on the lure in the anglers hand. Looks like a DB predator in gold and black.

those beckies are dam big at the back of Barrier....... talk about a pack attack there must of been at least 1000 of them swiming around the boat all looking for a sabiki to jag them...... best teaser was the big back side light they just kept coming at it drove after drove until you couldn't see through them they were that thick......

Lethal and Canadian John,

I think this capture should be reported to the IGFA immediately.  The only piper I've seen this big was a scotsman!  LOL.  But seriously, I'd question the legality of such a catch as the rod and reel as well as flying gaff are n't shown in the picture.  Good effort Lethal.  The fishing seems to be average so I'm all for stretching the truth as far as possible.

    Cheers

well i supose it's the closest we will get to a bill fish at this time of the year unless we go out for a broadie drift with Damian which isnt a bad idea......

Howdy all, Dam it all Lethal how ya gonna get a bottle big enough to roll that one out to remove the bones?.

My Pc has been pissed and broke for about two weeks, but it was only a back door virus they tell me, nothing $500 wouldnt fix, It  seems to me that I was the one that got shafted via the back door, heh heh.

Thats no good Dreema but why do you have to keep changing your name mate???????  are you running Windows XP because if you are you only need to go back a day in your settings and the Virus has gone.......

Hi tonto a six hook rig would not go down to happy with the IGFA im sure, but im not complaining it was great fight while it lasted.......

Hi Lethal,

Did you use that fantastic "billfish" for bait on your trip???

I am told they can be great baits for snapps & kingfish.

cheers Woody

yeah i tried them and so to did Canadian John but im afraid we didn't get anything decent on them i think most fish run for cover as they where so dam big ,    and i was sort of saving the bigger ones for a freind just to blow him away with there size......

Hi Letlal hows the fishing, No dont have xp, have 98 second edition, the virus has been hiding in my pc for a while was not picked up by the shop or the anti virus scans, it was one that could not be sent on ,It only buggars your own pc, they called it a back door virus.

Name changing, thats my handle or half of it dreemspina. so not to be confusing i will use the spina half of the name, all good?.

I like using piper for bait in the deep stray lining, I got a hook up on one at the North end of the pub reef at Te Kaha, we saw the fish about 20 ft down after 15 minites of playing it and got bitten off, a very big snapper, i have caught a 251/2 snap at the reef, only this one was alot bigger.
