hey guys. im looking at doing to king and kawahi hunting in a few weeks. and ive recently got a 8wt 9foot CD/Taimer rod with SCI angler sinking bonefish WF taper line and just wanting some tips on how to catch the above and what sort of flies to use?
bear in mind that its only a 8wt im using so i cant cast anything too heavy.
 
oh with the kings and the 8wt..... ive got plenty of braid backing Wink

Hi John, You might find that plenty of braid backing doesn't help with kingfish. But don't let that put you off. Rats are within reach on an 8WT. Maybe even bigger fish if you've got a clean sand spot.
 
First question would have to be where are you fishing? Shore or boat?
 
And how's the casting?? If you're a beginner make casting practise number one priority before going fishing. Bad casting can totally prevent good fishing. 
 
Apart from that it's pretty straightforward. Need to know the sort of areas you plan to fish though before giving pointers.
