Yet again I find myself looking to change towing vehicles.  The Bighorn is a bit long in the tooth, but it's been good to me over the 10+ years I've had it.  I'm considering changing to a double cab ute, for non-fishing related reasons. I want a 4 wheel drive diesel and looking to spend around 10-15k.  Looking on Trademe the usual suspects seem to pop up -Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Triton, Ford Ranger. This kind of money seems to get around a 2006-10 vehicle with 250k on the clock in good condition.  An oddity that cropped up was a Foton Tunland, which I originally ignored as being Chinese rubbish but the fact it has a Cummins engine with Bosch injection, ZF gearbox, Borg Warner transfer box and Dana diffs made me wonder if it was worth considering.  For the same money I'd get a 10 year newer vehicle with over 100k less on the clock.  Anyone got any experience of these, good or bad?  Or any thoughts on any of the likely contenders I'm likely to come across.

Hi Kevin-never ever had a Chinese vehicle of any sort but I do have mate with one of these. His is a 2019 model and hasn't been near a workshop except for servicing in that time so I guess that' a plug for the model? He's done 120km and everything still sounds sweet. I've been in it to quite a few places golfing with him and it seems ride good and is quiet. It is a 2wd so unsure of the 4wd. Shouldn't be too much different?

Just thought I'd follow this up and tell you what I actually bought.  I ended up with a Mitsubishi triton GLX, which is great and exceeded everything I was looking for.  Except price, I ended up blowing the budget somewhat -but did end up with a very nice vehicle.

One of the models that I looked at was the LDV T60, and by chance I'm driving one now -it's a loan car while I'm getting some minor work done on my Triton.  It's a lot of car for the money, this is a 2025 model with only 1000km on the clock, 4wd double cab diesel ute and it's up for $37k.  But I have to say I'm not impressed, the seats are not very comfortable and the ride is pretty agricultural.  Seems robust enough though, possibly a good buy for a site vehicle that will get hammered.  But I wouldn't want to drive a long way in it, maybe I've just got spoiled in the Triton which is very comfortable and rides well.
