Might seem like a strange question, but watching a U tube video on flounder filleting, I found their cuts didn't work for our flounder. I then discovered that there are both left-facing and right-facing flounder.
So ours are right-facing here in Taranaki? Has anyone seen a left-facing flounder in NZ?

Right-facing means when laid flat, mouth is on the right with gill slit below the mouth.
Left-facing means mouth is on the left with the gill slit below the mouth.

apparently we do  but they both got big long names that I aint even going to try and spell  ( google it )Big smile

and anyhow  we do need to be careful because some of these right eyed flounders will identify as being left eyed flounders regardless of actual physiology . Im thinkin they would probly  only eat seaweed too,  and thusly maybe a bit skinny and not be to everyone's taste....................................LOL
