I operate a Haines Hunter SF535 with a 135HP Merc Optimax and am looking at converting from cable to hydraulic steering.   Winibo have a unit that matches the specification and the product has good reviews.   Just asking about if anyone has experience with this product made in China.  Price is pretty compelling  for the 150HP kit.

Hi Rooster. I fitted one of those to my boat about 18 months ago. My original hydraulic steering was leaking badly so I bought a kit for it but it was buggered. The only replacement I could get at the time was a Winibo and we had a major comp in two weeks time so I reluctantly went with that.

I was surprised at how much better built it was than my original. The instructions also made sense and were easy to follow. Fitting it was eay, the longest part was making an adaptor plate to cover the bigger existing hole for the helm. I only had a round file and a 13mm frill bit but we got there.

I would have no qualms about buying another.
