I’ve gotten into fishing while underemployed since summer. Have watched heaps of videos, had some success off the rocks and wharves - but have maybe overcooked things!

Does anyone offer lessons or classes (for a fee) on real basics, techniques and how to read the water / area? It looks like a few ppl do in Wellington.

Unfortunately I don’t drive and live in Tāmaki CBD…it’s been a long time since I’ve discovered and enjoyed something so much and just want to learn more. Thank you!

There are things happening from time to time. I'm at Franklin H&F on Saturday to talk about gurnard fishing in the Manukau Harbour in Auckland this Saturday. I'm also doing a talk toward the end of June. Not sure what area you are from but there is a load of information on online. Unfortunately there is also a load of misinformation on line and for a newbie it is difficult to separate the two.

These forums have a wealth of info. Mostly but not all is really good especially these days

Fire some questions at us. We're only too happy to help

How did it go last Saturday at the gurnard talk smudge?

I wanted to be there, but i was swamped with chores.

It was pretty slow Schecter, not many customers in the shop at all, we had a few come up to ask for info though so it was all good.
