Hi,

Looking for  a service manual for a 18hp 2 stroke tohatsu and cant find anything concrete enough online. I ideally wanted to buy a paperback version.

Can anyone recommend a legit site or location to purchase from?

Cheers

I got a download for my honda 35hp  and while I , like you , was hanging out for a paper copy , the down load is really good , way cheaper than paper copy . Got the download pretty much instantly and a CD turned up about a month later ( from the  US).
More than likely the motor is sold under other brands ..... like mercury .
I just found one for a 4hp Sail which I ID'ed from the pix in the add as a Yam 4hp copy .
What year / model is it   ......I could have a look see for you  as Im looking for other stuff ( anyone got a set of carb balancing gauges they dont want ? ). Smile

Thanks for that - where did you download it from? Ive seen a couple of manuals online but was hesitant to start purchasing off a random site in case i was buying a dud or a scam.

Its a M18E2 - 18HP 2 stroke 2018

Cheers

yea the only worry I have is that it is for models up to yr 2000. Mine is a 2018. I have read somewhere that they havent changed much throughout the evolution of the 2 stroke but surely there has been changes throughout 18 yrs??

YeahaaaaIdunno , if its a plain old carbed 2 stroke   what would you change  ? If it works well , and they do , why would they spend money changing it ?
What I would do is to try and find pix of an older model ..... like maybe someone is selling one and posted pix with the cover off  ( doesnt have to be in NZ ). Have a look at a later Merc 15-18hp    Somewhere you will see the same engine painted a different colourSmile
