hey folks, its been quite awhile since i dropped a line in a regular basis. i always had boats but have been paddle boarding for a bit now and really have the urge to chuck a bait at some of the fishy looking spots i pass over.
i imagine the field has changed alot since i used to browse this part of the forums. but i'm trying to come up with a list of contenders.
p13 viking profish reloaded prowler 4.7
these are some of the kayaks i used to see mentioned. are there some new brands to consider?
for context. i am a smaller paddler, 75kg. travel light. will use it for some touring with the kids on their paddle boats (may look at a second yak).
any advice welcome. cheers

Why don’t you fish off your paddle board, I’ve seen them setup well with a strapped on chilly bin with rod holders screwed on the side of the chilly bin.

nah andrew. it's tempting. but i reckon it would not be an enjoyable experience in the end. i think i need something with more control of direction and drift. and an easier way of freeing my hands etc.
i'm keen to have a kayak. have the roofracks and storage space.

Any of your listed kayaks will do the job, all of them are well proven kayaks Also, check out the "stealth fusion 480" from sth africa, very popular here
Me and some mates have the viking reload Viking reload review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OMkRiChFLQ&ab_channel=PaddleGuy" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OMkRiChFLQ&ab_channel=PaddleGuy
You can add a bixpy jet, this is a kayak version of a minn kota
Do your research and ask heaps of questions on here Be sure that whatever brand you get, the kayaks scupper will actually fit your fish finders transducer

well so what i did was go out and grabbed a viking 2+1.
i reckon it will get me through until i make a decision on something more dedicated.
will just use it for paddle boarding backup with the family. some exploring with the teens. and an occasional fishing foray.

thanks, thats a kayak i'm keeping in mind for the future. i've got the viking 2+1 and also now a fishmaster single so will just use those two for the next year. will reassess my needs again next summer.
