we went south of Glinks Gully a few days ago for a torpedo session..

I'm running the Seahorse GPS 46lb.

Someone was in the usual spot so we went a couple of kms further south.

Attempt 1: set the gps, sent it on its way, and it washed up on the beach about 1km north
Attempt 2: set the gps, sent it on its way, and it washed up on the beach about 500m south.

Swell was tiny.
Other people were using kontiki's up the beach..
I have since checked the gps and it is functioning perfectly.

Any ideas what would cause this? Are there some weird isolated magnetic fields around the area??

I dunno nuffin bout them Big smilebut  is it possible that the  main battery is loosing capacity ? is there overheat protection on the motor. Im just trying to think of why it  wouldnt power on out to sea . Was the motor running  when it beached. Does the whole plot run on one battery or does the gps / steering servo have it own power supply . Just thinkin  maybe gps is ok but low or no power getting to steering servo or motor.......and it might be ok when you launch  it but peter out  after a bit.Ermm

sounds more like a fault in the steering servo
