Anyone had much to do with rouble shooting problems with the Alko iq7 extreme brakes?

I hooked my boat up this morning and the compressor wasn’t coming on, I wiggled the plug and swore at it a few times and it came on but then wouldn’t stop.was fulling the air tank and dumping air.

Warning beeper in the cab was never stopped beeping. Disconnected the trailer and took the truck for a spin around the block to give it a run (fishing plans canceled for the day). While driving the truck without the trailer the warning on the mouse in the cab was constantly beeping like it does when the trailer is plugged in and the air is low.

I’ll start with the checking the wiring on the truck and trailer connections but thought I’d see if anyone had any other ideas.

Cheers.

Dave, I had the smae problem when I had my big rig. Alko NZ were as usefull as tits on a bull, my mate who was a auto sparky said it was that the compressor was getting enough voltage. Our truck was 24v so had to reduce the voltage down but even then we had issues. We wouldnt have a problem sometimes for months then all of a sudden it would start up again, was a prick when drivng and all of a sudden it would dump the air and brake lock on.
Sold the boat & trailer so dont kow if the new owner is having smae issue, he never said anything when I spoke to him recently and I cant ask my mate as he passed away couple years ago now.

Cheers mate, got it sorted. Opened up the plug on the trailer and it had a big ants nest in it. One of the pins was squashed shut too and when I tried to spread it it snapped so replaced the plug and she’s all good now.

As I remember you need to turn the car off and on after plugging the trailer in or unplugging.  This could be why the alarm was going off after you disconnected (if you didn't turn the car off while you disconnected).

Yes Akios service in Australia was just as poor. Terrible to deal with, won’t be adding them to the mix when putting together a new trailer
