Would prefer it went to a young person starting out in fishing. Plenty of useable bits in here. Pick up in Rotorua.

Well done ... when our grandson was younger he was a recipient of a similar offer from a forum member which was much appreciated & still is
remembered.

My first creation! Not sure what it's supposed to be 🤔 some sort of Marabou jig? Didn't have a weighted jig head so used the dumbbell eyes. Kinda just experimenting with the different materials n techniques. Took me a few tries to do the whipping knot with my fingers 😂 thank God for YouTube! Hopefully get in a lot more practice before my son comes for the weekend so I can teach him 👍 You never know, it might still catch something 🤞🤭

Looks cool. I just used to use a loop of nylon to tie off the head.Say 5lb piece 200mm
Long. Fold in half and lay along the length of the fly with the loop of nylon just in front of the eye of the hook.
Wrap 6 to 8 turns over the nylon and then cut tying thread.
Cut thread and poke loose end through nylon loop and pull back under the turns. Head cement to hold everything in place. Never had a fly fall to bits due to head unravelling.
Fish teeth will destroy them though!
