Any one know what this is? Around John Dory mouth/head. Is it safe to eat?

Thank you.😊😊. First land based trip after a long time. Few good snap, trevs and a dory. Never seen anything like that on a dory before..🙂🙂. Any way it tasted yummy..😁😁😁
