Have a 2003 Raymarine E120 W unit with a transom mounted 1KW Airman transducer. No depth reading, sonar is running, GPS is working.
Have cleaned contact points at ports.
whats the life of these transducers?
How do I check if the transducer is functioning?
Any help would be appreciated.
Is there a company that can test this set up?
South Auckland area.

No, it has been whilst trailer was being repaired but is back in its normal position, still not reading anything. It is 18 years old. Maybe that is the issue. did play up for while before it so called died.

In my old boat I had a ray marine, even after countless returns for warranty repairs it was never reliable, wouldnt read depths at all some times, not sure about the older units though. When I changed it to a Simrad I never had any issues again.
