Been mucking about with busy things in life and finally getting a bit of time...wonder and hoping for some valuable advice about fishing on the Tutkaka Coast out from Toots and up as Sandy Bay way.
Have a 495 ali boat and am a very average skipper...but I would like to bring home the odd snapper and perhaps a couple of Kawhai to smoke.
Lacking in confidence and experience really but seriously would appreciate and thoughts or guidance anyone could give....that goes for equipment, spots and basically anything else.....Im looking for to getting out on the water this winter....thank you all very much..Tuska

great you will get sometime to enjoy what’s on offer on the water. I’m new to the area so no good on spots but f u r after a snapper and a few kawhai pretty much anywhere will deliver your wish list from what I have been seeing. Your boat looks a good size for the harbour channels and rocky coast. Burly will bring in your KYs and snapper over winter. Any rocky reef with current and you are hood to go.
