Looking at light jig setup, shimano tranx a good option reel wise or what others would you recommend.

Tranx is solid, Grappler 300HG too.
Daiwa Lexa is also a very solid contender.
I really rate the Okuma Komodo as well. We're fairly spoiled in the low-profile baitcaster space but it seems like relatively few people are using them.

Shimano Trinidad 12 is what I like using - very solid little reel, although the smaller ocea jigger reel look really nice and may have more drag if you are looking for that.
You want keep weight of reel down if using in prolonged sessions, lighter is better unless you have Popeye forearms.Wink
For a rod,  the okuma tournament spiral wrap pe 2-3 is a really nice stick, and won’t break the bank.
