Never fished this stream before but crossed it many times visiting whanau in Tokoroa.
A different sort of water than I'm used to - any tips??
No skagit here, I think?

Good dry fly stream.
Had a lot of success with a size 12 or smaller parachute adams or dry dropper with lightly weighted nymph.
Smaller feisty fish they are resident as there is a natural barrier not far upstream from the mouth with lake Karapiro which stops the bigger models moving upstream.
Can be swampy along the bank in places so sometimes difficult to navigate.

Good fun especially on a warm day when smaller terrestrial patterns work quite nicely. Fish can be spooky I have had some success with a downstream presentation at times.
