Hi all,
After a couple of years converting to a boat I am back in the market for a good fishing kayak. I really like the Reload (w/ Bixpy) but I feel like it is too big for me to haul around Auckland launch spots.
Therefore I am considering the GT (w/Bixpy)
I'll be mostly in the inner harbour and the occasional bay trip. Not planning on any long distance expos.
If you have experience with these kayaks please share your thoughts.
Will I be missing out on Reload's speed and features if I went for the GT??
Would GT be stable in the chop?

Cheers
Vedat

The purest in me wants to scoff at the Bixby.

But if you get a motor I guess a GT would do the job and save money for kitting out.

Thanks man. Yeah I am loving the idea of the Bixby just for the fact that it'll make life so much easier to slow the drift in fast current spots I usually go to.
So you reckon GT will be fine if I have the Bixby?
I might have to try them out before I decide...

Yeah if you are fishing inner harbour the extra weight saving should help the battery power to on the GT.

If you were hitting long range trips I would go the Reload.

Talk to Viking...

GT handles the chop/slop real well, very stable. At 26kilos without gear more manageable than reload. Add the Bixpy and you are seriously in business.

Go to Viking website and look at vid, on the GT.

the reload is faster, also heavier, its awkward to lift to the roof rack
I use the rhino kayak side loader to help out with my reload

I was looking at this product if I were to get the Reload:  https://www.canoeandkayak.co.nz/shop/accessories/kayak-accessories/sherpak-boat-roller/" rel="nofollow - https://www.canoeandkayak.co.nz/shop/accessories/kayak-accessories/sherpak-boat-roller/

But I live in a house where I don't have much space to move around the car and I'd need someone to give me a hand to carry the kayak up steps etc.
So I ruled out the Reload for practicality reasons.

(btw email notifications aren't working for me)
