Not sure if many kingies are around in winter compared to summer, but the headland at Bowentown is worth a go I guess.

If you drive to the end of the road there are two options to access the headland - up to the top of the hill (where there are steep steps down to the harbour entrance) or along the track above the waterline left of the boat ramp.

At both spots it's a matter of looking for likely water and putting in the casts.

Please take safety precautions, particularly on an outgoing tide. The current absolutely rips out of the harbour and if you slip off the rocks you better be wearing a PFD.

I hooked a horse kahawai on a stickbait off the little concrete jetty beside the boat ramp at Anzac, casting along in front of the trees.

You can also walk over to the headland to the right of Anzac Bay, which is another likely looking spot.
