Hi all, Firstly happy new years To fellow members, and let it be a goodie on the fishing front Had the annual four day xmas Comp come to a conclusion yesterday with only a small window on day one to fish before it turned to custard. Applied all my knowledge in to the few hours we had, and the last twenty minutes before the whitecaps came snared a 75 cm and a 74 Snap after three hours of no Strayline action. With alot of Comps these days Mokau Club has applied the measure system as well to encourage the option of letting bigger fish go. Wasn't confident at all as fourty odd other boats out there competing. In the end very grateful to take it out for fourth year in a row, and my mate Steve getting 2nd. Pic of Snap on measure. Like all Westcoasters looking forward to a calm patch with no wind to get out again Fish'n! Cheers All...

Happy New Year Geoff .Nice Snapper in the pic, I reckon all comps will be measure and a picture eventually. I think its a good way to fish comps no mucking around with fish after the comp leaves more time to celebrate and catch up with mates about the one that got away. You are off to a good start for the new year.
