Hi,
Looking for some help and guidance please. Looking at getting a new boat.

I am considering these boats.
1. Surtees 495 centre console
2. Frewza centre console f16 or f18.
3. Fc Centre console

The frewza is looking like a very good buy $ wise but being in South Island and me in Auckland I can not go see or test drive.

Has anyone owned all three? Been in all three?

Which one would you prefer and why please :).

Thanks heaps

I've only had alloy Centre Console boats around 5-5.6m since my first in 1989 and sold on them.

My last 2 have been from the FC range (FC500 & FC560) and cannot speak highly enough of the overall ride quality, stability, roominess and the most important Dryness.

Centre Consoles can be very unpleasant if you pick a wet one. Both of these FC boats have excellent forward buoyancy allowing for the many West Coast bar crossings that we have made in them.

I would discount your first choice as being too small internally, tippy and also wet.

The Frewza is a good choice and would have been my choice until I saw the FC500 C/C at the boat show in 2013. The FC boat just ticked too many of my boxes when compared to the Frewza.

Check out the latest NZ Fishing News and the Ultimate Boats 16CC. That one is in Auckland and goes great. They can be done to what ever spec and range from 48k onwards dependant on spec level engines etc.

The owner of the boat is always happy to talk about it.

Cheers

I own a very well used 490  stabi  - caught lots of marlin done a lots of miles. That  fc joker boat  is a good  looking capable piece of  kit .. would be my choice if going again . Also if you you like catchin marlin  always go Yamaha  or Honda; as some other brands don’t work so good., if at all.  Seem to scare fish rather than attract them.
