I am heading up to cooks beach in a few weeks time and am seeking some advice on things to be aware of launching from Purangi boat ramp to head out with the family for a fish. Not wanting to go out far or break any records, just some safe family fun and hopefully put a few fish in the bin.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice

Nice ramp which fits two boats each side with a pontoon down the middle, can be a bit of current if the tide is running, and is mildly slippery at low tide. The sand bar can be quite shallow, so you may have to time launching and retrieving an hour or so either side of low depending on the size of your boat. Cheers
