Hey fellow LBG people, this is my first post.I'm doing 6 days up at Parengarenga Harbour in mid Nov. Been a few years since I've fished up that way and am keen to get onto the bricks at Tom Bowling Bay if possible. Have a 4x4 but don't know about access in. Will be doing the usual Spirits, Tapotupotu, Te Hapua wharf and Paua wharf (if I can get the key). Any help on access would great. Cheers.

You don’t need a key to fish Paua wharf. The locked gate is just past the wharf.

Cheers, last time I was up there had to get a key from Te Kao store for a gate that led onto the station. Good to know you can access the wharf. Thanks

I haven’t been up there for a couple of years so maybe things have changed? In the past the only locked gate was to the boat ramp there.

Anyway good luck up there. Let me know how you get on. I’m heading up there in late November for a long weekend.

Yeah only need the key to get to the ramp and there is a new wharf now so you don't have to worry about falling through a hole and bleeding to death on the oysters below
