Well you would of read elsewhere how my boat broke it mooring.
Youi were excellent right from the start, organised a salvage(may of contributed to damage but thats salvage for you)rang them at 12.00pm last friday explained what happened, they got the salvage team,I organised boat to be pulled out of water, assessor came down Tuesday then again Wednesday got a couple of quotes but not financially viable for them. The verdict given yesterday and payment should arrive tonight.

So top marks to Youi who have had a bad rap.

Could not fault them through out the process and they would like the opportunity to insure my next vessel.

That's great news, sometimes these things can take ages to sort out but they seem pretty on to it.

I guess you're in the market for a new boat then, unlucky timing but I'm sure there will be something around.  Just a shame you're boat hunting instead of enjoying it in the sun.  But a great outcome.

Did they give you the option of having it fixed at their expense.. including unforeseen stuff that MAY crop up,
And
Give the option to estimate the cost and you then accept that pay out, then you get it fixed?

Or was it simply a write off and pay out?

write off and pay out. Best outcome, had a good look with a boat builder friend today and yeah theres more damage than meets the eye at first glance, repairable but when it comes to resale there maybe a problem as word gets around, its been rebuilt.

Seem to remember it was myself that initiated a thread questioning the viability of the way that Youi operated ie lower premiums based on
all sorts of named conditions & exclusions.

They also were severely reprimanded for in many incidences requiring credit card details in order to receive a quotation after which the enquirer subsequently found their card had been debited & there was a rather complicated process involved in order to receive a refund.

Therefore it is gratifying & enlightening to hear that Paul has had a positive experience with them in this instance.
