right team bit stuck with spooling up a jm pe 8 that I'm taking to the kings. really want to get a puka/bass on a jig. but struggling to find a decent brand braid in a spool bigger than 300m. from what I'm told I can fit around 400 to 450m of 100lb on it or do most guys just do a joining knot to get a full spool (not a fan of doing that is all) or do I go pe 10 and just have a 300m spool and hope we fish for them shallow. I do have a 50w with 100lb braid for the deep stuff. but do prefer to use the jig rod

I run 340m of PE10 daiwa boat braid on a PE8 at the kings, never had to go deeper than that for Puka/Bass up there. Yeehaa, rod and reel etc have it on bulk spool

Its worth having the PE10 up there IMO.

Give Chris Wong (Jigstar) a call he will sort you out with whatever size spools of braid you require. I personally don't think you need anything more than 80lb when fishing up the Kings.

There are a lot of different places you can get spools up to 1800m on them. The big thing i have found the bigger the diameter of braid the more drag in the water you get when drifting along.

Most charter boats will park side on and drift, they don't normally back up trying to keep your braid straight up and down so the more resistance you have in the water (thicker braid) the more you will need out as the line angle will be greater.

Go as thin as you can get away with and 80lb is more than enough IMHO

Hey Greg take a look at Tasline Elite comes in 300, 450, 600 and 1000M spools Marine Deals have the lot.
Only issue is it's not color banded so got gauge your depth or if your dropping to the bottom then it doesn't matter. Just a thought

I have a spool of JB hollow 60lb (92+lb) Multicoloured in a 600' spool.  This is what I've used for my big Bass/Hapuka jigging at the 3 Kings.  Although the PE8 reel won't take it all, you keep the left over braid and splice it whenever you need to top up.  Seamless 100% connections.  Price is $200, includes courier.   Add $25 for a splicing needle for later on.
