I've haven't used slow pitch jigs very much. At the moment, most of my fishing is with inchikus and the remainder with soft baits.

What's the story with slow pitch? I can see that they would be good in work-ups (isn't everything?), but outside of that, how well do they work versus inchiku? I catch most of my fish very close to the bottom. I would imagine that the slow pitch action pulls the lure out the strike zone. I do catch snapper midwater, but this isn't a regular occurrence.

So, just more lures designed to catch the angler? Or do they offer a worthwhile difference to inchiku?

I slow pitch alot, find inchiku etc a little boring. If fishing for snapper just do about 5 pitches from the bottom and drop it back down, just as effective and the hookup on the drop is good fun.

Agree inchiku is boring as, slowly winding or as a lot of people do just leave it in the rod holder. Slow pitch is good fun and it does not have to be a work up for it to catch fish plus it takes some technique.

I'm keen on inchiku jigs. They can be fished actively too

You do need a specialized rod to properly fish slow pitch jigs, but they certainly work, i stock quite a few slow pitch jigs and yes they are a little more fun to fish than plain inchikus

Thanks for the replies. I get fishing a particular method out of pure enjoyment. I find inchiku fishing relaxing, almost meditatative!
