Dear my friends,
I am new on this forum. I have decided to buy a new set for shore jigging.
Actually i will use 10 gr up to 30 gr metal jig for shore jigging.
I need your answers about which rod and reel and braid.
Max cost can be 1500 $
1. Rod should not be less than 2.96 meter ( as you know if the rod is high so you can through the jig so far away from the shore Therefore i prefer long rod
2. Reel should have enough braid ( min 300 meter 0.22)
But just one question when i through the jig fastly my braid is being knotted on the rod during through so it makes me crazy and i have to cut my braid because can not open knot how can i fix this problem i need your advice which i will not face this knot problem during throughing the jig to the saltwater ?
Pls help me with your advise.
Sorry my english

It sounds like you are using a free spool reel. A fixed spool reel is easier for surfcasting. With them the spool is fixed and does not rotate, the line being wound on by the rotating arm. With the free spool reel the spool rotates as line is pulled off. When the line slows mainly as the sinker or lure enters the water the spool keeps going and throws off excess line which tangles and is difficult to undo particularly with braid. Some reels have adjustable weights inside which lessen this, however you still need to slow the run out with your thumb on the spool particularly when about to hit the water, you can then lift it off again as it sinks down at a slower rate. It is probably worth getting a good reel and rod from a specialist shop. Good luck with the fishing.
