Hey guys,

Got plenty of floating stickies but keen to get a sinker for choppy days or fishing deep around school fish, reefs etc.

Any suggestions around 70 - 100 grams? preferably nothing too tricky to source.

It aint no use if it aint chartreuse!

FCL Labo tbo 180 swim
Had good results with these

A little harder to source and more expensive would be something in the Carpenter range like the Pandora

Two other models relatively entry level lures that I've read tips/reports about on here are the River2Sea Doggie, and the Rapala X Rap Sub Walk.
I love the look of some of the sinking lures on ebbtide - particularly the Strategic Angler ones. Stunning colours. I got one of the smaller Mikros for Waitemata kingies. The guys who run that site come to NZ to chase kingies and are good at offering advice.

Good luck for the 3 Kings DV, we'll look forward to a trip report. Stay safe and don't break point load any Carpenters!

Some of those river to sea doggies are nice....the finish/build is very good.....best twitched ....rather than sweeps...Top one is a rover.(complete floater)..Bottom two are sinkers(doggies)..good value.
Some really nice stuff on Ebb Tide for sure.

If you are going to buy stuff from Aussie.....you need to be a bit careful(in case of returns).....people i have used ...have a good attitude .....are helpful and prices fair or good are
Ebb tide....great selection .....quick response time and answer your questions....only 5 bucks shipping within australia.
Fish head......Same as Ebb tide....... Very good.
Sneaky fisho.......great deals there and helpful too
Nomad fishing shop.......helpful........prices reasonable......always answer your questions.

Elite tackle......good prices but postage is expensive and the boss can be rude/unhelpful/grumpy at times.....Wont be using them again.

Interesting, Troutmaster. I grabbed one of those (in pillie colours) at H&F on the recommendation of a guy working there who seems to know his stuff. But I've never given it a fling.
What action are you using?
