Hmm think I will pass on buying this product, at least when I catch fish I know fish looked healthy and was swimming around before I take it.

I've seen the basa farms in Vietnam. Absolutely filthy river  and very muddy water. It's quite amazing that the fillets taste so clean. God knows what they do to them. One to avoid I think, but if it keeps the rest of the world off our snapper stocks, then maybe not such a bad thing?

I have seen this in Countdown, it even looked an artificial colour, one week was pearly white slightly pinkish looking attractive... the next week it looked to be offwhite and slighty lime tintSick

There is protein and then there is protein mate...nahOuch

As a uni student, I got this on more than one occasion. Taste like crap. Only after eating it did I look it up and see just how horrid it was. Oh well, nothing wrong with me at least that I can see. Everyone has 6 toes right?

Well in the USA they rave about catfish! I was a bit skeptical but tried it a couple of times and must admit I was pleasantly surprised.

I like Catchelots description of the Basa fillets colour range. Maybe the inspiration for Resene paints new pastel  range.

But seriously wonder what nasties lurk in our own glowing fillets from our bottom feeding fish. This country has been drenched in Glyphosate, active ingredient in Roundup. Glyphosate is now regarded as one of the most persistent environmental toxins, and is right through the food chain. It is very slow to break down. Roundup has been linked to high cancer rates among Californian park workers and landscape gardeners, and thus the U.S courts have ordered Monsanto to put cancer warning labels on Roundup. Predictably Monsanto will fight the decision.
In France and other European countries Roundup is on the verge of being banned. We still use it in vast amounts.

Maybe N.Z is looking at our next multi billion dollar big thing. Basa FarmingLOL. They say 60% of our lowland rivers are looking a bit green around the edges, with pollution, just perfect for Basa.
We could become world leaders in Basa exports. We could all be rich. very very rich.LOL
