Isn't the rule usually 100grm per 30m? I usually fish 50-70m with 2-300 grm jigs

and depends if couta are around. dont f around with light jigs and maximise the hang time for them to cut ya off clean, but it will happen with heavy jigs regardless

Usually 300g in 100m but you might need to factor in more weight for wind or tide drift.

For good rod loading, you might want to go heavier or choose a jig that is less streamlined so that water pressure plays its part in contributing to rod load.

Rod load is important to establish good rhythm when mechanical jigging.
