Here is a video of fighing a tuna using 10' Black Hole Cape Cod Yellowtail rod. The rod is good for tuna under 100 lb and yellowtail(kingfish).
Heru Skipjack was used.

Longer rods are needed to cast farther.
It is a little harder to fight with longer rod, but as you see in the video, it is manageable.
I will bring the rod as well as heavy 10' rod to Oman trip in April. 
You can cast 250g poppers with the 10' Heavy rod and you need big poppers in Oman.

lifting three gallons of water (25 lb) with Black Hole Cape Cod Surf II Heavy rod. One gallon is 8.34 lb.
The blank weighs only 8.4 oz.
See the power and backbone of the rod.
